Over the years S.T. Dupont has produced several lines of high-end pocket lighters.
Let’s see what they are.
1 – Line 1
The very first S.T. Dupont lighter, Line 1 (Ligne 1 in French) is considered by most the icon of S.T. Dupont.
The production started in 1941 with the launch of the first Line 1 petrol lighter, and lasted until 2013, when it was discontinued.
In 1952 S.T. Dupont launched the gas version of Line 1 lighter, with adjustable flame.
In 1991, S.T. Dupont launched Jubilee Limited Edition, a Limited Edition replica to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of its first Line 1 petrol lighter .
Line 1 lighter was available in two sizes, large and small. Large model measures 35 x 14 x 58 mm. Small model measures 35 x 14 x 47 mm.
2 – Line 2
In 1977 S.T. Dupont launched Line 2 lighter. Thinner and taller than Line 1, thanks to its harmonious proportions it soon became a bestseller.
Line 2 lighter is universally recognizable for the famous “cling”, the noise the lid makes when opened.
It was available in two sizes, large and small. Large model measures 37 x 11 x 62 mm, small model measures 37 x 11 x 56 mm.
In 1989 a Montparnasse version was added to Line 2 range of products: available only in the bigger size, Line 2 Montparnasse is easily recognizable for the “S.T. Dupont – Paris” engraved on the front side.
Line 2 lighter is still being produced.
3 – Line D
In the eighties S.T. Dupont created a line of lighters specifically tailored to women, Line D.
Thin and light, Line D lighter was produced from 1985 to 2012.
It measures 32 x 9 x 54 mm.
4 – Gatsby Line
Launched in 1989, Gatsby lighter features an elegant yet masculine design.
It is easily recognizable by a double moulding along one side, and a vertical “S.T. Dupont” engraved on the front face.
The “cling” sound when opened is the same as the Line 2 model.
It measures 37 x 11 x 56 mm.
5 – Soubreny Line
Soubreny lighters feature an elegant curved line design.
Soubreny line was produced from 1994 to 2004 in one size, 38 x 14 x 47 mm.
6 – Urban Line
Produced from 1999 to 2005 Urban lighter measures 35 x 15 x 58 mm.
It features a contemporary design with clear lines, and a “hammer” lid design.
7 – X.Tend and Mini X.Tend – Maxi Jet and Mini Jet
X.Tend is the first line of torch flame lighters made by S.T. Dupont.
It was launched in 2000 and replaced around 2007 by the new version, Jet.
Very popular among cigars smokers X.Tend – Jet line is still a bestseller.
It is available in two sizes: Mini Jet (Mini X.Tend), which measures 32 x 12 x 54 mm, and Maxi Jet (X.Tend), which measures 38 x 14 x 65 mm.
8 – D’Light Line
In 2004 S.T. Dupont launched a range of innovative and unconventional lighters: D’Light.
Very thin, 34 x 8 x 68 mm, the lighter is opened and lit with a sliding movement, and closed by means of a spring loaded button.
D’Light line was discontinued in 2006.
9 – Line 2 Liberte – Line 2 Torch
Launched in 2008 Line 2 Liberte is the torch flame version of Line 2 lighter.
In 2011 it was replaced by Line 2 Torch.
It measures 37 x 12 x 62 mm.
10 – Line 8
Launched in 2008, Line 8 lighter combines design and functionality.
It measures 35 x 11 x 55 mm.
It is still being produced.
11 – Mon Dupont – KL
Developed by Karl Lagerfeld, Mon Dupont is a line of unconventional shaped lighters.
Launched in 2011 and recently discontinued Mon Dupont lighter measures 23 x 22 x 70 mm.
12 – Defi Extreme
Defi Extreme is a line of torch flame lighters designed to work at a maximum altitude of over 3500 m and in a range of temperature from -10 to +45 C°.
Launched in 2012 it measures 45 x 15 x 68 mm.
13 – Liberte (Femme)
Liberte is a range of lighters designed for women.
Launched in 2012 the Liberte lighter features a cone-shaped body with rounded ends.
It measures D=18 mm x H=86 mm (overall dimensions).
14 – SLIM 7
Slim 7 is the thinnest lighter produced by S.T. Dupont (only 7 mm thick).
Launched in 2015, it measures 37 x 7 x 67 mm and it features a flat torch flame.
